A wrongful death lawsuit was filed last week by the parents of a Menasha girl, 16, who was killed on July 14th, when she fell from the "Giant Swing" free-fall ride at a Lifest Christian Music Festival.

The wrongful death suit seeks unspecified damages and names the operators and organizers of the festival where the tragic accident occurred.

A preliminary investigation discovered the device holding the girl to the ride wasn't properly fastened and a safety rope wasn't attached properly. The investigation is still ongoing, but Police do not expect any criminal charges to be filed.
